Your deletion options
You can ask TECHWITHLEE to delete your ShineEye account and associated personal information through the app or by email. You do not need to reinstall the app to make an email request.
Request deletion in the app
1. Sign in with the phone number used for your ShineEye account. 2. Open Profile → Privacy → Delete account / data. 3. Read the information provided, confirm your choice and submit the request. 4. Keep any request reference or confirmation shown. An acknowledgement confirms receipt of a request. It does not, by itself, confirm that deletion is complete. If the app reports an error, you can use the email option below.
Request deletion without using the app
Email support@shineeye.ng with the subject ShineEye account deletion request. Tell us that you want your account deleted and provide the phone number linked to it, including the country code, or an existing account reference that lets us identify it. We may ask for proportionate information to verify that the account belongs to you. We do not ask you to email passwords or one-time verification codes. Do not attach identity documents unless we explain why they are necessary and provide a suitable secure method. Never send suspected abuse material.
Email a deletion requestWhat completion means
When the request has been verified and completed, your account and associated personal information are deleted, subject to specific lawful exceptions explained below. Account disabling or sign-out alone is not completed deletion. We also address associated records held by providers acting on our behalf where applicable. You will no longer be able to use the deleted account to access your profile or activity. Uninstalling the app does not delete an account, and deleting an account does not automatically erase copies that other people independently hold.
Information that may remain
Some information may need to remain for a specific legal obligation, a defined abuse investigation, a legal claim or another valid exception. We limit retention to the necessary information, restrict access and apply a documented retention or review period. We explain material exceptions affecting your request unless the law prevents us from doing so. Information that has been genuinely anonymised may remain. Merely removing a display name or replacing it with an account reference is not sufficient anonymisation. Expiry from an incident feed is not deletion from storage. Backups and provider systems may have separate deletion stages. These must not become a reason for indefinite retention. Contact us if you need information about what remains and why.
Request updates and complaints
We process requests without unreasonable delay and within applicable legal requirements. We explain necessary verification steps, tell you if an exceptional delay arises and confirm the outcome. An acknowledgement or a temporary account restriction is not a substitute for completing the request. For an update, email support@shineeye.ng and quote your request reference if available. You may also exercise your privacy rights or complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. See the privacy policy for further information.
